I dont really know if its against the rules or not to ask for homework help but I am finishing a lab and really could use it. They gave me a double aldol condensation and have the HNMR and C13 NMR of the product. I cant figure out what the reactants are. If its possible can you guys help me?

Look up the reference spectra of the reactant and product in an NMR database

Im thinking the starting materials are trans cinnamaldehyde and cyclopentanone but im not entirely sure Im having a hard time identifying the peaks

The possible starting materials are Acetone, cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone, and 4-methylcyclohexanone for ketones and p-tolualdehyde, p-anisaldehyde, and cinnamaldehyde for aldehydes

Tbh you need to get your mitts on a modeling program that can spit out NMR spectra and testing your guess

I used spartan in undergrad but that can be tricky to get to. It was quite literally the most useful pay off NMR for me though
