Not everyone likes online reading.

I learn basically nothing from reading books, and I have ADHD and need to highlight stuff. Reading physical books is easier and I can easily go to any page I want to. Like say I’m looking for a certain theorem, I can flip pages with my thumb and find it with ease, while on pdf, I have to scroll and hope I don’t miss it then do it again and it’s annoying and dumb.

Physical copies are better for me and online reading isn’t really effective. I only use libgen for papers or something or to preview a book I’m going to buy in case it’s dumb. And I’ll regret it. Very funny how relevant to this thread that is.

Yknow, now that I think of it. I could actually just partition my books on libgen. I think the issue is a bunch at once. Like spivaks libgen book only has all 5 volumes, which equates to 1300 pages, and it’s cancer.

So I think the resolution is to divide the pdf into chapters. So chapter 1: y subject, for x book is one pdf etc...

That problably could work for me, so nvm maybe.

Another cool idea/way around this is if someone made a program in VR, that converts any pdf into a virtual book that you can flip open and read. That would be very cool. Also, no paper cuts. Now that’s pretty epic and cool, someone should do that.

My biggest issue would be the inability to read without electricity. I feel the strongest urge to read while outside or when the power is out. Looking at a screen for hours to read is not great either, and having a physical copy feels so much better.
