i've come to the conclusion /sci/ has two purposes, for scientific discussion but also for intellectual vs anti-intellectual (i.e. epistemological) arguments. i also think the latter is a natural result of the former on an anonymous forum. so my question to /sci/ now is, if my assumptions are correct, how are these meta-math disagreements best refuted? and i don't want to be stuck with the null answer of "don't respond" because with this being an open forum, it reads like a cop-out to someone asking legitimate questions (provided these people aren't entirely trolls)
