your consciousness doesn't "shift" to the timeline where you survive, your consciousness was ALREADY on that path to begin with.
a simple way to understand this is the old: "there are more ways to die tomorrow than there are ways to die today". given that your death is a random death, it will most likely be tomorrow, not today, since there are more possible "tomorrow deaths" than "today deaths". and then extrapolate to infinity.
your other argument is that since you're 30yo, then what are the odds that a billion yo you is real?
that's a bad argument for many reasons, but I'll just refute it with its own logic: given that you're 30yo, what are the odds that all versions of you have already died and you're about to die? then next year when you're 31yo, just ask yourself what are the odds that all versions of you have died and you're about to die?
