You get some that break the average and make a high wage, but they're generally high ranking members of their field and don't represent the norm.
Basically you have the lower class that works minimum wage, the middle class that makes a few dozern an hour more than minimum but with large flexibility in their hours, and then the ultra wealthy upper class who were either born into money or devoted their entire life to their career
