You haven't realized it yet, but every single treatment, every single procedure in medicine is poison and it will kill you if not done with proper training, and proper training means practice, to watch people die from your own actions. One of the golden rules of medicine is to not treat your own family if it's serious shit. You will either grow overconfident and let the disease progress or you'll be scared of damaging your loved ones and give them insufficient treatment, or you may simply give them the wrong treatment over inexperience.
The Hippocratic oath states "I shall teach my art to my sons and my teacher's sons but no one else" for good reason. Now, whatever you do, as anything in medicine, is done at your own risk.
