is it possible to replicate at a lab at home with minimal costs?

Is it possible to make an EMP with a directional antena and take down a drone or am I better off using microwaves from a magentron?

Maybe I should stick to making a circuit for RF interference at 2.4Ghz?

Not with anything similar to your picture. You would not be able to see the drone with your naked eyes before it bombed you.

Yes. However such devices will make you truly unpopular. Also the noise from explosive compression of fields is very loud.
