Is anybody else here annoyed/weirded out by this? What ever happened to leaving politics and religion out of the workplace? In most labs completely unrelated to social issues and politics, it's quite normal for people to just expect that everyone is a fellow open borders feministic loser. People at my lab often just start shit talking Trump out of nowhere and openly fantasize about him getting arrested. I'm getting kind of sick of pretending to be a leftist for my boss, it hurts my soul. Was thoughtcrime in scientific labs always this big of an issue? These people pride themselves on being the most "open-minded and rational" group in society when that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Also I'm not a Trump supporter, for the record. I just feel like modern leftism is cult-like and it bothers me that I have to listen to people say stupid shit every day and bothers me even more that I have to pretend to agree.
