I want to learn more about astronomy, and I've ordered and read many a text book. Never been to college, I just buy textbooks and try to teach myself on a subject as much as possible. In my downtime I occasionally like to watch documentaries.
Spehs documentaries are fucking garbage. All the ones I've seen are full of black science guy(s) and women giving what seems to be more of a repeated fact rather than an understanding. I honestly don't want to see some white guy explaining shit in their own way either. I've always felt that the moment a documentary shows an individual and his supposed credentials then the documentary is more entertainment than fact...
tl;dr
Are there any astronomy or spehs documentaries that don't involve academic people, but rather a bunch of autists with an understanding of the subject putting together information while a good narrator reads the text they put together? WWI documentaries do this quite a lot, and they're very enjoyable.
