Using physical discomfort to force out motivation

What is the best way to finish work you're not very motivated to do? I absolutely cannot get myself to write this essay I really need to do, and I get distracted very easily from it. Ofc I'm distracted right now from it by writing this instead of the essay.

I've noticed that taking "breaks" in the middle of doing schoolwork to watch Youtube or do something that yields a dopamine release always ends up in me neglecting the schoolwork to keep watching Youtube for another hour. So a comfort activity is not a good break.
What if you did the opposite of a comfort activity as a break? That is, what if you did something very physically uncomfortable so that doing schoolwork would feel comfortable in comparison? One such activity could be a series of long planks, like 2 minute planks.

I want to test this by, of course, using the scientific method. The parts above were the purpose/motivation and question.

A general hypothesis: Doing 15min of physically uncomfortable activity for every 75 min of doing schoolwork will result in schoolwork being done more efficiently.
(The uncomfortable activity is the independent variable and the efficiency is the dependent variable)

You can create your own uncomfortable activity, just make sure to write down what it was when you record the data. The control trial will have no uncomfortable activity.

Efficiency should have two values: the amount of time spent distracted on comfort activities over 75 min (this is a fraction like ) and the fraction of the week's work you got done for the class you were working on. Make sure to distinguish these values and compare them.

Experiment:
1.Spend 75 minutes working on that annoying gen ed class you have. If you are within 10 minutes of finishing an assignment at the 75 minute mark, then finish it.
2. Record efficiency values.
3. Do the 15 minute uncomfortable activity for the trial.
