alternatively you can use ordinary x-y-diagrams and represent the points/triangle/squares/route by horizontal lines.
there is the possibility to insert another column (of values) and connect two points (pairs).
so in one column: 0,0,0,...
in the second column: value1, value2, value3,...
then you can connect the two points (e.g. with the representation horozontal line) with a line. 0 and value1, 0 and value2,...
config the lines/points and it looks like any kind of column diagram.
this is some work but the template can be reused, just change value1,...
