Have you heard of the butterfly effect? A butterfly flaps its wings, and a hurricane eventually occurs. Had the butterfly decided to sleep, the air currents would be slightly different, and it's possible that the hurricane could altogether not happen. The same thing could be said about the human brain, but replace a butterfly with external factors like air quality, radiation etc, and include internal factors like aging, drug abuse etc. So many things can alter the state of the brain that in no way could a simulation completely keep track of it all.
