doesn't really have one in general. It is shown that the radius of the circle has to have the value 1.278 in order to touch the other two equations, or vice versa.

The sinc(x) function intersects with the unit circle. Why isn't the cos(x)/x function, or anything similar, well behaved? Isn't cos(x) also part of the unit circle?
