counting might start at 1 but indices should definitley start at 0.
of course both is possible but if you have longer experience in coding (coding = applying of logic) then you find the thought of doing it that way unbearable.
at the beginning it may seem awkward to start from 0 but this causes far fewer problems / less effort than the other way around.
