Parents clearly disagree though, because they miss no opportunity to make fun of the Common Core. "When I was in school, the teacher just said 'this is how you multiply,' and we did it. Now when my kid does it, the teacher says 'no, for this lesson we want you to do it another way.' That's dumb. All that should matter is getting the right answer."
I hear this crap all the time. It drives me nuts. Who cares if your kid can find 625×197 by hand? Is that really how you want the lesson taught?
