If you have a cube with a volume of 10cm and a density of 10g/cm and a mass of 100g then if that cube were to contract by 10% then you would have a volume of 9cm and a density of 11g/cm and a mass of 99g. Why does the mass decrease by 1 gram? Am I thinking about this wrong, or is it the formula that is wrong?
