It could just be my personal experience
A dentist removed my wisdoms and my palate recessed, my teeth started leaning inward, and my back molars shifted more towards the center of my palate. I'm talking probably an inch or less between where the mounds of gums of my molars were.
I mew with my jaws separated, so my teeth aren't touching, and I push my tongue up really hard against the top of my palate.
I can feel my maxilla pushing against my cheekbones. My cheekbones have definitely become more pronounced. My midface where my maxilla teeth are is more pronounced.
I will also be doing it to the bottom too once I get enough of the top moved out. Honestly though it's so fatiguing and strenuous that I don't want to do it all at once because it's just so much discomfort.
I've been training myself to "want" or "enjoy" the feeling that happens, so I'm processing it less as discomfort and it's becoming more of a pleasurable experience. It's like the sensation itself changes because I want it.
It has without a doubt had an effect, and I'm only about a week or week and a half in, but I'm focusing all my attention on it and doing it all day without distractions.
