How do I motivate myself? I’m currently a 4th year physics and mathematics major at a pretty reputable school. I want to go to grad school but I think I’ll suffer. I’ve gotten As in pretty much all my classes, except stat mech and abstract algebra, but it feels like I finessed my way through all my classes. It’s not that I don’t find it interesting but, for some reason, my drive to work only turns on 1-2 days before a deadline. I’ve tried looking at my textbook a week before the exam but nothing sticks. When the deadline feels like it’s closing in, I go turbo and end up doing well. Afterwards, however, I forget everything and the cycle repeats. I know I have the capacity to learn the material, but how do I rub that magic lamp without the time pressure. I want to change. I know I could do much more. Any advice would be appreciated.
