Alright, so one explanation is Dyson spheres. But you can't even see one astronomical body, meaning there are dyson spheres even around planets. You'd want dyon spheres around stars for the energy, so why would you use planets?

You can't see planets in different systems unless they're in front of a star. This is why we can only estimate how many planets most systems have.

What the fuck are you on about? This pic is of Barnard 68, a dense molecular cloud. It's very close to us relatively at about 400 light years. It's literally dust and gas dense enough to obscure view. With infrared light we can see through it

Barnard 68 is not a void, it's a cloud and it's only 0.5 light-years long. Most likely a star will be born out of it

To the contrary, with Dyson spheres around otherwise normal distribution of stars we would have seen an excess infrared image. And that we do not see.

Correct, Barnard 68 is the cloud in the OP pic. I replied to that anon because he said that the Bootes void is "more" alarming, even though there is nothing alarming about Barnard 68 in the first place.

That assumes a highly advanced civilization needs a Dyson Sphere. There may be a secret yet discovered that makes the 3rd dimension irrelevant to highly advanced civilizations. Perhaps species "out grow" the need for bodies and normal matter, going through an immense physical change.
