I am aware that misinterpretation can happen quickly but for how long has this been celebrated as the future drive?
they should once again focus on the core scientific tasks and one of them is to check whether everything has been measured correctly for outstanding inventions.
for an outstanding discovery, as much effort should be invested here as for the construction and the measurements themselves.
I am under the intention its all about attention, competition and research funds and bragging.
and of course publications in journals so they can jerk off to it.
