>>12343587Yes, but I don't think it stands out from all the other ages of enlightened thought. The muslims know best that (wo)man is predisposed to worship, if not God than implicitly something else. For one reason or another science stops becoming about science, as it really is a dull, humiliating and meticulous task. It becomes about prestige, grades, status or of course politics, we lose sight of what it takes to remain in a position of unbaisnessed towards what ever observation, and to remain humble in the limitations of our instrumentation. It becomes a game of authority and dogma, and the ends superscede the means. Data is changed downstream, statistical methods are overhyped, the journals become filled with paid propagandists. Its not unique to /sci/ence but it surely is present here.
