>>12357316>I never said feathers pre date scales you dumb niggerThat's literally what you said. You're just too fucking stupid to understand it. If feathers are an ancestral trait to all dinosaurs, then dinosaurs must have independently evolved scales from feathers MULTIPLE times - at least 3 or 4 times (at least once each in ornithischians, sauropods and theropods and likely multiple times in theropods alone, if feathernigger arguments bear any relation to reality). Something which has NEVER been shown to have occurred in living birds, the only extent dinosaurs. Now which is more likely, that every major group of dinosaurs did something which has never been shown to be a real trait of evolution or that dinosaurs mostly had scales because their ancestors had scales and feathers are the exception, not the rule?
> I said bird scales are essentially modified feathersExcept they're not. You're once again just repeating what you've heard others say without critically analyzing it. And you failed, as all featherkikes do, to answer the basic question: at what point in bird evolution did birds LOSE the scales on their feet, have them completely covered in feathers, and have to RE-evolve scales from their mythical feet feathers? Because it makes far more sense that they just retained the foot scales from their Cretaceous ancestors that also had nearly identical feet. But, no, let's overcomplicate the phylogeny because we DESPERATELY wish to believe T. rex had feathers.
I'm just going to point out here, that I know I'm wasting my breath. I know you haven't read anything on the subject, you're just parroting what you've seen on blogs or infographs or tv shows reciting featherfaggot propaganda, so nothing will change your mind. Dinosaurs were chickens and that's that. All of them. And if we find scales, well that just means there are magical feathers OVER the scales that weren't preserved for some inexplicable reason. Case closed. Because featherfaggots are brain-damaged.
