I'm already prescribed zolpidem (Ambien), and it works really well, the problem is that you gain tolerance to it very quickly, so you can only take it once every few days, or the medication will end up not having any perceivable effect. I typically end up staying up for many, many hours waiting until I'm completely exhausted and sufficiently relaxed before I even head on over to bed, because otherwise, I'd simply lay in bed for hours without falling asleep. I can't hold a normal job because of my all of this, but that's another story.
I'm wondering if nitrous oxide would help me sleep for the days when I don't. What would be the most practical way to make it that would still be safe? Are there any other medications I could make that would help me fall asleep?
