Yes, a lot of situations involve binary outcomes, either it happens or it doesn't. But something happening doesn't have to be half of the time. If I truly randomly choose numbers from 1-10 100 times, either I pick 7 or I don't pick 7, but the proportion of the 100 choices at which I pick 7 will probably not be 50.
So probability is here to take that into account and model all kinds of random situations beyond choosing random numbers.
Actually nvm, go dump your life savings on stock options with a 50/50 dream and tell me how it pans out
