First of all, I don't know shit about abstract nonsense subjects (group theory, category theory, abstract algebra and the likes).
I see however that most if not all mathfags on the interwebs are specialized in these subjects.
Sometimes it feels like you chose these subjects just because they look abstract and are incomprehensible to others, so that you may look smart and artificially mog people. Is this true? Just be honest bros.
Currently I have more respect for mathfags that develop analysis and geometry as they are actually doing something that does not look like a circlejerk, but real math
