Maybe at the level of immunizing the soldiers who went and dragged the bodies out of the chambers without getting harmed themselves. Or maybe he figured out how to dry out the bodies so they burned faster than things made of 70/100 water.

I heard that someone cut hands off and reattached them to the opposite limbs. Big if true. Again I'm not sure if it was him or some other evil doctor.
