Should SpaceX partner with Boston Dynamics? I think it is important to develop the robots necessary to colonize the solar system, starting with the Moon.

Is anything known about Neuralink? I need to be able to connect my nervous system to a digital system to immerse myself in virtual reality.

No, SpaceX should focus on reducing launch costs and NASA should focus on everything else required for a base / colony.
Partnering with BD is just a good way to loose all the good will SpaceX has developed when we inevitably see BD bots killing 3rd worlders in a decade.

Public goodwill doesn't really matter outside of consumer-oriented markets, especially for a privately held company. On top of that, SpaceX is already doing a fuckton of work for the DOD. NRO and GPS launches are going up on Falcons, Starship is being explored as a suborbital airlifter for TRANSCOM, and the Air Force has already used Starlink to pass information between various platforms in live fire exercises.

It carries through even for non-consumer facing companies.
Airlines with mainly fleets of Boeing aircraft saw a dip in passengers after 737MAX8 shit.

Public goodwill matters even if you deal with the public indirectly. SpaceX doesn't care about that right now, but they want to ferry people to the Moon and Mars - which is very public facing.

Less to do with ethics and more to do with costs. Offal bags are just a useless liability. Robot exploration is the future, near Earth as human operated avatars, far Earth with AI control.

You establish your Moon/ Mars base with robots. Why bother colonizing an uninhabitable rock with people? Who cares about the second lag to the moon, or 5-20 minutes with mars. Don't have to feed robots or provide them with an atmosphere. Makes things magnitudes cheaper.

So now you have got your low G exo bases. Now send probes to nearby stars. Robots dont care how long it takes. If you really want to, you could load up a self contained colony probes, which enters orbit of any habitable planet, and deposits a load of human embryos onto the surface, along with AI controlled robot helpers who build shit and take care of everything. Although by that stage having actual physical humans may be considered an entirely moot point.

Probably the best case scenario. The image of a galaxy filled with human diversity Star Trek style is a fantasy to placate the curious peasants.

exactly, the next 10 years will at best be stuff on the Moon, sorry Mars obsessed people. And, the moon could all be done with tele operations.

the Ai can take over in the next decade when we actually can realistically get to Mars.
