Gigabrainlet here. Not sure if it belongs here or in /his/ but I figured out since it's about evolution it might fit here.
I often avoid talking about religion because I'm not a good debater and since I'm the token white guy in my muslim friends group, I will be always alone against dozens. Also, I respect them as it is, I understand the role of religion in the formation of cultures and their beliefs so I never bring that up.
But yeah it happened again and let me summarize their arguments
>1. Evolution has been disproven by almost all scientists in the world. It's just a theory, you can't become a humain from a fish. Nobody has been there for millions of year so it's impossible to prove
>2. It's a logical and mathematical certainty that God (or higher being/creator) created life in the universe. Say there's a 0.000000001% chance that life forms somewhere randomly, where does the other percentage go? That's right there's a 99.99999% chance that a higher being created life. It's both logical and mathematical certainty. If you have 10% chance to cross a bridge alive and another one at 90%, which one would you choose?
3. Archeology and fossils are biased in a way that they require observation and that is the weakest proof possible. You might look at a skeleton of some animal and say oh that's the head but another guy might interpret it as a leg and his observation would be as valid. You don't have certainty, it's only hearsay or opinions. Transitionnal fossils don't exist because you can't trace a continuous straight line of evolution from one animal to another. They are all different
4. How come there is not another intelligent life form on our planet or why the chimps aren't on the same level as us?
5. If chimps have 99.9% the same DNA as us, where does the other 0.1% go? Like in the evolution tree, where was the humain with 100% the same DNA as us? Was it 1 million year ago? 20 000 years? You can't because chimps are animals and we are human
