hi /sci/ im brand new here, im a person with much wonder of the world and the question im about to ask if more of a general curiosity of mine than a need to know desperately type thing.
i understand this is flawed beyond belief but from what i see on this board its probably something worth throwing out there for shits and gigs
so im only counting things that have "consciousness" that will take up data in this simulation. and im being very generous in this.
if i count every interaction between synapses in a brain as one operation it runs at about 10^17
aka 100 million billion operations per second
make that for every human that has ever lived
with an avrg life span of 50 years
every year has 30 million seconds
so 30'000'000*50*108'000'000'000*10^17=1.62e+37
not including other life like insects and animals and bacteria,
or for that matter alien life.
i ended up with a rough estimate of 4.65E+127 amount of data that would needed to be run seamlessly every second at most and at the very least 1024h(planck) to run this simulation
therefore i deduce its impossible for us to be in a simulation i dont believe it to be even remotely possible for ANY civilization to be able to produce this much data this seamlessly and for 7 million years at the very least
go ahead and call me autistic. i had fun with my terrible and flawed fucking math
