Shouldn't a quantum mechanical system have continuous solutions for such a potential? Otherwise I don't see how I can describe arbitrary incoming waves in an eigenbasis.
The simplext example hamiltonian for this would be:
$$\hat{H} = \frac{1}{2}\left(-\partial_x^2 +\Theta(x)\cdot x^2 \right)$$
