doctors haven’t even been helpful with the pandemic in the US while pharmacists, nurses, and emergency responders have. doctors, as in the gatekeeping elitist sense, is traditionally an MD but this is changing in the US because if you see them as leaders in the healthcare system, it has really failed us.

Pharmacists can write prescriptions. I believe if you just go to a pharmacy and tell them you have a small issue they'll prescribe you a few pills. This may not work if the pharmacy is located inside a big retail store.
