I don't get it.

Two electrons would repel each other because they exchange photons so much that they end up shooing the other away.

But how does it happen that the electron and the proton also exchanges photons but attracts the other?

And how did it happen that electromagnetism has infi range?

And lastly, why does electron capture works only when there is a severe lack of neutron? Does it really have to go beta decay just so the electron and proton would neutralize each other?

I am so confused
