Sure some people are more prone to it. But it's closer to a personality. They're faking it. I cured my autism after I realized I was doing this.

It's an incredibly broad umbrella term - a disorder with so many varieties and forms of it that it's difficult to pinpoint a concise definition that does it justice. The best I can say is that it's a neurological condition that handicaps your communication skills in some way, and everything else depends on which version of autism we're talking about.

I truly meant recent mega-analyses, as in done in the last few years with sample sizes over 1000 subjects.

My partner is working on one of these, and the findings are contrary to what the Intense Wolrd Theory proposes.

Evolutionary neuroscience, my focus is on evolutionary constraints that shaped neural networks and brain processing structures for sensory information, sight predominately. Autism is somewhat remotely involved since it seems to inhibit constraints on how much of processed and pre-processed inputs are delivered to the conscious mind

I'm autistic myself and I've "treated" myself (fucked up my life to the point where I was on the verge of homelessness at one point) using the IWT as a starting point, as well as supported others with autism.

Normal people are essentially brain dead, only you cannot easily tell as they have practiced and memorized ways of dealing with most things.
Geberally, the synapse loss seem to result in the loss of local and very long distance connections (such as cerebral cortex-cerebellum) and the creation of compensatory medium distance connections within the cerebral cortex.

its a catch all / syndrome. i dont know why they changed it to autism spectrum disorder when its clearly a syndrome and not one singular condition but multiple conditions they share commonalities. the only real core trait of autism is the empathy impairment.
