Any secret techniques for the GRE general test? How did you guys study for it?

Three things that can pay off:
>do practice tests
>drill the GRE vocabulary (brainlet move but you're competing with brainlets who literally do this)
>practice writing gay essays, and get feedback
I got a low score on my GRE written portion because I didn't do #3 and ended up writing an autistic ben shapiro style essay that was wholly correct and the trannies marking it didn't understand it desu.

I didn't study and got 165Q and 169V. Best advice is just time management. Ran out of time on math.

I also got a 5.0 on writing, lemme give some tips. They really don't care about the quality of the argument, only the quantity of supporting points. Try to have 4-5 points in favor, and a paragraph to strike down a counterargument. Guaranteed 5.0 if you can spell and grammar correctly.

memorized ~2000 vocab words from flashcards back when i studied for SAT. wrote few essays from prompts just to get used to shitting out words again. did some of the kaplan practice tests (online version). did not study for math. got full score.

English was my weakest subject (specifically, the vocabulary section at the beginning).
To study, I got a couple of those "500 flashcard" packages they sell at bookstores. I sat down and separated them in bunches of 50. Each time I would memorize a new bunch, I would go back through the old bunches to keep the brain juices fresh.
I got a pretty good score, so it kinda worked. TL;DR, you just need to sit down and memorize flashcards if you're struggling in English.

My prompt was about famous people, and the only people I knew about were mathematicians, so I literally just blabbed about Perelman, Tao, and Weil for a good few pages and earned a perfect score. If you scored badly, it's on you. At least the essay is on a computer. My 90 wpm typing speed finally paid off

This is also true if you're good in English but looking to maximize your score. As other posters have said, your competition is all doing this so you should do it too.
