>>12333351This is different. This is more like being super inwardly-focused and envisioning yourself in imaginary, fantastic scenarios. It's not literally believing psychotic delusions (like that you're a prophet/God or that the government is injecting thoughts into your brain), which is more a schizophrenic and schizotypal thing.
It's probably partly tied into general narcissism and self-focus. The imagination and daydreaming often substitutes for, and is seen as preferable to, interacting with other people. The internet is the schizoid's ultimate boon. A lot of them are addicted to playing video games all day, for example, where they live out an alternate fantasy life.
And the potential erotomania is probably more due to incel/autism-ish, loneliness, obsession, and egoism tendencies, rather than something totally psychotic like shooting Reagan to impress Jodie Foster or thinking Taylor Swift is leaving secret messages in songs to convey her love for you.
These terms (schizoid, schizotypal, schizoaffective, schizophrenic, schizophreniform) are really shitty and generally considered misnomers. I suspect within a few decades they'll all be phased out in favor of more verbose, explicit things. Schizoid personality disorder may become "socially-indifferent personality" or "asocial narcissism" or "fantastical narcissism" or "autocentric-asocial personality" or something like that.
I've been told by most people I know (apropos of nothing) that they think I have it, and I also think I have it. But who the fuck knows. These things are very fuzzy and ill-defined, anyway.
