you need not to be a complete retard, have a good idea (extremely hard in 2020 because big companies can outperform you 10 million times) and have an appropriate starting capital that you are willing to lose if everything fails.

Eh, I work for one and from experience I'd have to say that big companies are just really good at maintaining an air of superiority. Everything takes ages to happen in a multinational and the people who work there usually just want to get their paychecks and go home. Startups, on the other hand, are usually really dedicated and more flexible.

If your starting a company you shouldn't be trying to compete with anyone. The goal is to either offer something brand new, or improve on an existing product by at least an order of magnitude. A lot of science or tech based startups improve on existing products by a bit, but not enough to give customers a reason to choose them over a big name brand.

I think this is where you go get an MBA. I'm following the same idea because pharma companies pulled out of investing in neuro as everything has failed.

That's what I was thinking. In half a year I'll have two BSc degrees but have essentially no desire to go into a PhD program now that I see it for what it is. I don't know how much I'll actually learn from an MBA but it seems like it would be help establish credibility with potential investors.
