Assuming a nice estimate of 0.5N thrust, and a spacecraft mass of 750 kg (slightly more than the Voyagers) you could accelerate for 50 years and reach 0.3C. If you want to get to exactly the speed of light it would take you 14,269 years. Now if you got something like the hypothetical HDLT you would a) get more thrust and therefore more acceleration, and b) be able to scoop up fuel as you go. The thrust is tiny but also keep in mind moving at 0.3C is fast as fuck so...

Lets say you accelerated until the heatdeath of the universe as decades isn't that long.
You would build up speed to a decent chunk of C but your acceleration rate would be constantly dropping and if it took 100 years to get to 99% C it would take more like 1000 to get to 99.1% and a million years to get to 99.2% and so on. You would end up at something like 99.999% C but never get there.

A quick search found an interesting response to that question in the form of some guy running a program that tallied up all of the known payload weights, and it's around the ballpark of 14,800 tons. Assuming each Starship carries a full payload of 100 tones you'd need 147+ Starship flights. If there were three Starships flying at once, each one being flown once per day, it would take fifty days for Starship launches to account for that much tonnage.

Working on rockets or riding them?
If you want to ride them your age matters alot, if you don't have a doctorate by 25 your odds aren't great.
If you want to help build them there are plenty of disciplines needed and age is less of an issue. You are still going to need atleast a bachelor's but I think who you know is going to matter more than being amazing.

Could you build a suit of power armor that can survive reentry from LEO? You'd have a backpack or frontpack which would deploy an inflatable heat shield, a small ballute drogue to slow you down from supersonic to subsonic speeds without snapping your spine with whiplash, and then a normal parachute to set you (relatively) safely on the ground after you've slowed down to normal terminal velocity.
You wouldn't really need any kind of powered armor, although you would need a small PLSS and suit with some liquid cooling, insulating middle layers and heat reflecting high albedo outter layers.

Yeah, next gen battery architectures could probably give a suit of powered armor maybe 6-8 hours of operation assuming the powerpack is the size of a backpack. PLSS would be super simple, perhaps even discardable very high pressure COPV containing breathing air, perhaps what you'd do is integrate it with the parachute, with the cooling system integrated into the battery pack to manage both the battery's heat and the user's. The front-pack would have to be affixed strongly but somehow also in a way that it can be easily removed after reentry so it can fall away once used.
One problem with HALO jumping into combat though is that parachutists are quite vulnerable to enemy fire for the time they're coming down, you'd also have to take measures to blind and decoy the enemy's AA if they have any, and if that fails your guys are going to start taking HMG/autocannon fire before they're on the ground.

It doesn't, my money is on it being a test once they have a full BFR stack so the Starship can be going fast enough to see re-entery level temperatures.
This won't be anytime soon as they haven't started building a first stage yet.

If it can be proved that the Democrats substantially cheated in any organized kind of way, their current perspective win would be invalidated, perhaps even if they still had enough votes left over even without voter fraud (since it would reflect party-wide malevolant intent). The government has basically had combustion instability and chewed up it's turbomachinery this year around.

1. they don't need ISRU to get back from the moon at all, but they do need to refuel above LEO (either in LLO, NRHO, HEEO, or on the surface)

On Thursday, 29 May 1947, Hermes II was fired from Launch Complex 33 at White Sands Proving Ground. It was approximately 1930 hours local time. It is noted that the ramjet pack was not active for this first flight. The Hermes test vehicle was supposed to pitch to the north and fly uprange. Instead, it pitched to the south and backrange toward El Paso, Texas. Post-flight analysis revealed that the new inertial guidance system employed by the Hermes missile had been wired backwards! This human error directly and adversely affected rocket system reliability.

The WSPG Range Safety Officer(RSO) had both the authority and responsibility to hit the destruct button once it was obvious that the Hermes II was errant. However, a project scientist physically restrained the RSO from doing so! Apparently, the scientist was of the (evidently strong) opinion that the test vehicle’s propellant load should not be wasted on such trivial grounds as the safety of the El Paso populace. Unimpeded now, the errant rocket continued its flight. Range safety protocol would have to be improved and understood by all participants prior to the next flight!

The Hermes II reached a maximum altitude of 35 nm on its unplanned trip to the south. During its 5 -minute flight, the vehicle overflew the city of El Paso and impacted near the Tepeyac Cemetary located 3.5 miles south of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. The quasi-Mach 1 impact formed a crater that measured 50 feet in width and 24 feet in depth. Enterprising local residents gathered what little airframe wreckage that survived impact and sold it to souvenir seekers!

From what I understand: at some point Elon talked about a raptor that was unstable. Idk if it was during a flight or a static fire or a test at McGregor- but he said it had a distinct noise in the 600Hz range. Anyways last time SN8 did its static fire there was a BRAAAAP at the end and everyone here and across the internet assumed it was this problem. Someone ran the audio from youtube in audacity and saw indeed it was in this range, and within that week SpaceX took one of the engines off and replaced it. So it was a broken engine
