Technically this could go under /tv/ but this is a scientific/ medical question, so I thought it could go here.
What would happen if someone dropped a Junior Mint or any other piece of candy into a person while they're undergoing surgery and then being sewed up with it still in them?
I ask because there's a Seinfeld episode where Kramer accidentally drops a Junior Mint into a patient being operated on while viewing the operation from the gallery. I know sitcoms play fast and loose with medical science, so I'm curious would said candy just dissolve away into the person's system or could it possibly kill them?
