They exist, they require constant attention because they're "finicky." the few we have have been in VERY short supply during the covid pandemic. Imagine NEEDING this machine to live, and there not a 2nd one to spare, and you need to clean the system or change a filter or something? If it goes offline or breaks you die. Not an ideal situation. Transhumanists are going to have to wait.
