Fun fact: we know one of the digits 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 appear infinitely often in the decimal expansion for pi, yet we don't know which digit.

As pi is infinite, does that mean there's a point at which it gets to 3.14..314... and repeats every digit it has previously contained an infinite amount of times? If so can it not then be written as a repeating decimal?

Depends what you mean by loop. You can express pi as a continued fraction which is a kind of loop.

If it looped it would be rational.
All repeating decimals are fractions with 99...99 in the denominator, where the number of 9's is the length of the repeat.

Example 1/7 = .142857142857... = 142857/999999

Or 1/11 = 9/99 = .0909090909...
