But they do work, basically sacrifice monetarily to switch up your future.
I'm biased, I was at a decent school in undergrad but couldn't get any high tier offers because my gpa was pretty low. I gave up a huge chunk of future earnings to essentially restart at a great master's program and will come out ahead. In my mind it's worth it because I got a useful master's which will pay off in the long run.

some of them are decent programs but regardless of their prestige they don't offer funding and they make money for the school since a lot of the students pay out of pocket
