What if we sent a giant solar panel into the sun, and then beamed the energy back to earth in the form of a microwave laser. The solar cell will likely burn up before getting inside the sun, but the enormous energy it will output will power the planet Earth for years to come. We just need to do this every couple of years for it to be feasible.
