>>12302906The moon doesn't change much but I like taking the occasional look on the moon using a medium sized pair of binoculars. Just looking at the moon on a quiet, calm afternoon makes the mind ruminate over a few things. One is the space race, an impressive effort to land people on the moon when the tech was so shaky that Kennedy had to emphasise the goal was also to get the people back from the moon. Another is a high school teacher way back who philosophised about life in general, how impressive it was to have seen the moon landings, yet how un-romantic it was to have people trampling around on it. Also I think of the strange coincidence that the angular size of the moon and the sun are the same.
And finally I think it just looks nice.
