Suffering from severe PTSD, I am looking for substances that would permanently erase certain memories from my brain.
Is there anything like that on the market/being researched?
Please don't suggest CBT or other talking therapy bullshit, I already spent a fortune on those and they don't work.

meditation, therapy and all that other fluffy stuff will help you, All other solution will only allow you to temporarily cope with it. There is nothing wrong with coping with it but if you want to have it gone forever then not any substance will help.

Propranolol (Sumial in Spain) works very good, and there is a procedure to erase the trauma. But the memories still remain.

this is what im saying u just go into the memory and change your relationship with it
also helps if you start building a character that can withstand whatever it is that haunts you, and then go into the memory
u can disarm it. you can change what actually happens in the event (imagination and memory share some type of connection). you can make it feel "smaller"

Probably PTSD'd here. Doesn't work. The trauma memories are stored in two forms, your conscious recollection, and your body's recollection. Your "trauma body", which is probably stored very close to motor output. Even if you were to wipe your memory, you would remain dysfunctional, tormented, and miserable, but simply be unaware of why.

I do know how to bury memories and split off into alters. I thought my own river Lethe was the only way I could continue, then eyars later, I was forced to admit how little I actually remembered about anything. Yet I was still miserable. I think I've gone through this cycle multiple times.

It would likely be very hard to target specific ones but I can tell you that none of the currently available "common" drugs (can't say anything about Heroin but seeing that it's just acetylated morphine it would likely be quite similar to morphine after a while) work even close to well enough if you want to forget something after the fact but I guess you could hurt your ability to make new memories by being intoxicated in combination with poor sleep but it's nothing I would recommend and it won't really help you in forgetting whatever it is you want to forget for whatever reason(at the very best it's just for the time being when intoxicated and mainly because you would care less but it's not an option in the long run or at all for that matter).

Electroconvulsive therapy can delete memories.
But probably easier to get over the PTSD event. Do MDMA with some friends and talk it out.

I saw a documentary where they would inject the person with a substance and then force them to relive the memory. The substance degraded the memory pathways that were activated when they recalled it. The person didn't forget the memory, but they lost all emotion attached to it. Wish I could remember what it was called...

Memories are made when your conscious/perception creates a memory in your mind. Reinforcement of memory happens when you keep your mind on the same memory. However memory disappears over time when you don't think about it. Memory can be reinterpeted with positive or negative reinforcements whenever you access those memories.

If you want to not think about something you hate/fear/loathe, then think about other things. Our mind can only pay attention to one subject at a time. Watch a movie, a cartoon, anime, listen to music, sounds of rain drop, thunder, etc. If you can't stop, then learn mindful meditation. Learn how to pay attention, to your breathe(this is my breathing going in/out of my body/lung/mouth/etc), your thoughts (this is my memory being recalled, my emotions being triggered, my thoughts being formed, etc), and so on.

Some have said exposure therapy, learn how your mind/memory formation works and learn to mindfulness meditation.

Do you have any resource that explains meditation in scientific terms? Every time I tried researching meditation I was turned off by the spiritual/religious/pseudoscientific beliefs that surround it. I am sure there is value to the practice, I just can't stand the people that are into it and their way of communicating.

CBT is the way to go, and if you pretend that it does not work on you then it is either that you are lying or that you don't want to be helped.
Chemically killing part of your brain can NOT be the answer.

Yes, but how would you conclude the experiment is a success or failure? Ask them if they feel more or less imaginative? See how much artwork they produce? You have to measure *something* in the end to draw a conclusion.

also you might be talking about nu-buddhist westerners and whatnot online, yea they're even worse than science on it. it's hard to divorce it from its contexts, meditation is a standard practice in almost every religion including christianity, so the exact contextualisation and goal that will allow you get a grip on it differs. also, because it's typically intent on refining and removing layers of your perception to get to the essential, even to the point of being able to discard your perception of space and time, any intellectualisation of it is inadequate fairy tales intended to be temporarily used and discarded.
