There are more important factors to the sound of a violin than who makes the shit. First, the quality of the player. If you're shit, it will always sound shit. If you're mediocre, it will always sound mediocre. Next it's the position of the bridge and the position of the soundpost, both of which are movable parts and can be adjusted to the player's preference. The bridge has to be filed in order to be played, and it has holes which some make bigger or give them more stylized shape, which obviously affects sound but nobody tells in what way. Just these two factors alone are enough to make a chink violin sound great in adequate hands. At this point, there's little to add when it comes to comparing to a higher quality instrument, which then again, doesn't imply the famed stradivarius is.
