According to this, the amount of radiation at Fukushima nuclear plant ground zero is just 8 ?Sv
Isn't this like 1/100 the amount of radiation at CT scans?

Why are people still afraid?
Coal plants produces twice the radiation here and no one seems to care.

IT ISN'T OVER. For 9 years Japan has been running water over the melted-down nuclear fuel somewhere under the plants that blew. Even with recycling the amount of tritium-contaminated water is huge. They've been storing it since 2011, and expect to run out of space in 2022.
Now they want to dump it in the sea. Thanks Fukushima.

...and the Dumping won't solve anything, the melted-down nuclear fuel somewhere under the plants hasn't gone anywhere.

Dude, dumping it underwater IS the best solution.
Water is the most cost effective radiation shield.
The nuclear waste would turn the water into heavy water which is 1/1000 the lethality of radioactive dust and decays so fast it has a radioactive range of just a few centimeters. You can straight up swim and drink the water on nuclear cooling pools

The unit is 8 µSv per hour. In four days, that is almost 80 µSv. In forty days, 800 µSv. In sum, that's about 9 unnecessary chest CT scans per year. I would rather not live there, to be honest.

All spent fuel rods are underwater, retard.
It isn't dumped into the sea because of chances that it would wash ashore and risk reacting with dust

It was the ground water that seeped into the reactor and posed no threat to drinking and bathing and they outright planned to release it to the sea or evaporate it.
It did however, ruined the reputation of fishing and tourism because of brainlets like you who keeps on fear mongering what you do not understand
