>>12294457If we're like a simulation then what we experience is the equivalent of what an automaton in a game of life experiences. All they know is a 2d grid with some rather limiting rules. They might realize math, their version of physics, and they might be able to make computing machines, but no matter what they do they are stuck in their reality. The best they could hope for is to find a bug in the engine and get the ability to execute arbitrary code on the host, but they have no idea what the host is, and even if they break out, what next? Their bodies are forever moving dots on a 2d plane. They can't just leave and become 3d creatures in our world. Their universe is their everything. Maybe they can get the equivalent of cheat codes, the ability to turn on and off tiles anywhere at will. That's pretty powerful, but also easily audited for. Most likely, fucking around will just crash the sim. Then the operator will have to start it back up, role the state back a bit, and remove whatever caused the issue. The life people are totally helpless.
That's what we are. If this is a sim.
