>>12294353It is true that the mind seems to be something above and beyond physical simulations, but I still think the problem OP brings up is simple enough that we needn't bring any of those big questions out. We don't know what the fundamental nature of reality is, but the universe as we understand it can perfectly account for why we can conceive of "impossible things", so I don't see a reason to go any further than that.
I'm not sure what you mean to say about our existence not being possible. That we do in fact exist is considered absolute bedrock, and about the last thing you should be questioning. As our good friend Descartes brought said, to even question our existence you need to exist in the first place. Though if you want to entertain the idea that existence is something different than it appears to be (we're in a simulation, the world is actually made of cheese, etc), that's valid.
