>>12294103I feel you, my company is also very stable employment wise and they are actually doing well during the pandemic as well. My position you dont need any domain specific knowledge to get off the ground and be productive. In that regard a lot of the skills I am learning are transferable. I got hired because I did some projects I worked on during undergrad that the recruiter was impressed with.
At least in my shoes I feel like I dont have any upwards mobility because to be more effective I essentially need to become an engineer and think of manufacturing solutions to the reporting work I do, which I have no desire to pursue.
Also there are not many analysts in the company since it is not prioritized, another thing I don't like since its pretty much just a few fresh graduates running around and no experienced people to guide anyone. Pre-covid when we were trying to get more analysts a lot of the offers my boss made to applicants got rejected because of the low wage. Eventually they lowered their standards so much now we have smooth brains sitting around being useless.
I agree with you on moving around companies when the economy picks up. For me its about trying to get into a top tier tech company otherwise theres no reason to live in such an expensive city. Some of my friends that got into those FANG-tier companies are set for their work-life with the salaries and benefits they get
