It doesnt rock. Narcissists quite obviously undergo a lot of stress keeping up their act. They very very frequently suffer greatly because of their illness. If you are truly a narcissist I hope for your success in treatment. You almost certainly are not I suppose.

Benefits of narcissism:
- Gives you self-confidence which might help in achieving goals.
- Makes you more attractive to women and other people who are attracted to self-confidence.
- You will try harder to protect your ego making interactions with you more interesting. (nobody likes the schmuck who constantly takes it and never defends himself or hits back).
- May act as an incentive to constantly keep improving one's image, one's looks and skills to match your own high self perception.
Drawbacks of narcissism:
- Can lead to unrealistic picture of one's abilities.
- May make it harder to make friends especially in reddit type circles where self-deprecation, self hate is the norm.
- Can be a source of drama.
- Maybe be emotionally draining.
- May be unwilling to do the necessary things, to get dirty for fear of damaging one's ego or image.
- Less tolerant towards failure. This could make you unwilling to try new stuff and experiment. A simple failure may be psychologically absolutely crushing.

this is accurate but the narcissists i know are also pretty selfish and lie a lot (in things that are pretty easy to figure out that they lie anyway) and once people figure it out they don't want nothing to do with him anymore (some people never figure out that he is a narcissist though)

idk is it justified what are your achievments ?
if you were perelman and thuoght that you were better than everybody at maths then it is justified

if you were heavyweight champion of the world and thought that you were better at fighting than everybody it would be justified

also if you are actually asking for a friend idk it takes a lot of time to figure out wether they are actually nice or not narcissists act like they are nice and probably believe themselves that they are nice to everyone but in the big picture they just keep lying to get what they want
